About:

During weekends and holidays, one or more copies of the seaside promenade are forbidden for cars. The trio pedestrian boardwalk / bike path / seafront avenues are crowded spaces for running, cycling and walking. In the early morning or late afternoon, it has an intense movement in the south beaches and in the Barra da Tijuca beach avenues.

Afterwards, through the bike paths, it is possible to go all the edge and meet the many beaches in the city, including existing bicycle rental at various points in the city.

Among the sports practiced in the sand strip, the more popular activities at the beach are Volleyball, with its limits demarcated over the sand, as well as Soccer/Volleyball and Beach Soccer. For all the beaches coasts you see the practice of these sports, and some even install an outdoor shower to cool off the heat as well as to water once in a while the sand to make it less hot.

In the wide stretch of sand of Copacabana there are numerous spaces for beach soccer, or naked calls, with goalposts set in several places where the sand strip is more extensive.

The "frescobol" (beach racquetball) is a sport that was invented uncompetitive on the beaches of Rio, and is usually practiced two to two, for all ages. Another sport that stands out is the "Jogo de Peteca" (game of badminton), a kind of volleyball for seniors.

Real public outdoors gyms, primarily intended for seniors, such as equipment muscle endurance, gain more and more followers among all age groups in parks and squares of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Surfing is very practiced on the coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro. We have beautiful beaches and wonderful waves. In the southern beaches of Rio have the known Arpoador beach, the coast of Sao Conrado, Barra da Tijuca and its famous Pepe beach point, Recreio dos Bandeirantes Reserve Park, and the Prainha beach; all of them are excellent surfing points. It has also the kitesurf at Barra da Tijuca, which has perfect winds for this sport.

One of the things that make Rio special is its proximity to nature. There are numerous national parks, hills and mountains within easy reach which are well suited for hiking.

For the more adventurous and want emotion, Rio de Janeiro also has the dual instruction hand-gliding flight or paragliding to energize your life. A Rio de Janeiro that is pure adrenaline.

You should also try a Helicopter tour. It is a bit expensive, but Rio is a city that deserves to be viewed from very high. This allows you to better have the big picture of city constrained between the Atlantic forests on the hills and the ocean.

For those who like less sports, we advise to check at the Jeep tours, they have a varied tours options. Tijuca’s Forest, Favelas, Jardim Botanico, Santa Tereza and etc…
